| Keep an eye on M2010 stuff. It seems they're taking a theme of any cool magical and mystical fantasy stuff. Like, they've spoiled a card that rfgs skeletons, vampires, and zombies...that forshadows a huge theme of holy knights and evil demons, with red filling out with dragons, blue with wizards and birds, and green with elves and beasts. So I'm not sure if you'll get any help from the red side for vamps, but I know black will have a whole bunch of them. Hell, they spoiled the first common vampire (besides the errataed vampire hounds), Child of Night, 1B, 2/1, Deathtouch.
edit: Oh, and Vampiric Dragon...yeah, thats about it.

| So you wanna join V's Minions and make a vampire deck eh?
Well, believe it or not but my EDH deck used to be a Tribal Vamp deck.
So you're in luck.
Vamps -------- Mephidross Vampire > Bombshell card that scares most players. Stalking Bloodsucker > If you have cards to spare, you can easily make him a 12/12. Mirri the Cursed > Basically, your only fast play
Other ------ Dark Ritual > Or you will never outspeed anyone Soul Spike > Osm removal and suprise lifegain.
Whats basically your strat gonna be?
Then I can help more. | |

| I have Consume Spirit, Tendrils of Agony and Douse in Gloom for life gain.
I was thinking of pinging enemy creatures with Arena to make my vampires stronger then finishing them off with something big.

| I do not suggest consume if you're running multicolour. Take Soul Burn instead, you can pay with red or black! The arena idea is good Tendrils I wouldn't use, you probably won't be able to storm THAT much to make it worthwhile. There are much more efficient life drain cards. Why not for life gain use Vampiric Links? They can be used defensivly and offensivly, and considering your creature sizes... It may work well. As for removal, what are you thinking? Wicked Pact is good, Dead Ringers, Terminate, Do or Die, and Hellfire is a gamebreaker. Remember, its all about fun and flavour! | |

| I completely forgot about terminate. That card is must.
I have a Plague Wind for board wipe.
So Vampiric Links is basically a lifelink card for 1? Then I'll need it for sure.

| Vampiric Does NOT give lifelink.
If you attach it to an opponents creature, and they attack, YOU gain the life.
ON the downside it won't save you from death like the new lifelink does.

| OK, so I need a few more cards before I can put the deck together. | |

| hm, I though R/B would be better since I can burn and pump my vampires.
Does pure black work better?

| IMO, Mono BLack is a bit biased on my part.
You can use things like Pestilence in black as well as more efficient cards like Mutilate, Corrupt, Consume Spirit, Tendrils of Corruption, Mind Sludge.
Burning works, as an alternative, there is the land "Arena" which works.
Try R/B, and if it doesn't work, just switch!
