| Hey guys! This year we have decided to try and get some commons league games going. Its a competitive format where only commons are legal. The beauty of this league is that almost anyone can build a highly competitive and powerful deck for dirt cheap. Heck mine was under 5 dollars including land hehe. But dont think just because this is a commons only league that there is no power. As some of the most powerful cards in the game are legal such as Lightening Blot, Duress, Dark Ritual, Terminate and Daze. The rules are as followed.
A great site to consult for any additional information is www.PDCMagic.com
Rules for Commons league(also know as Pauper)
-Only Commons are legal. So obviously no uncommon, rare or timeshifted cards are legal.
-If a card existed as a common it is legal; for example mogg fanatic was printed as a common in tempest but was printed as an uncommon in tenth. therefore this card is perfectly legal.
Banned List:
Cranial Plating.
Restricted List:
Ancient Den Great Furnace Seat of the Synod Tree of Tales Vault of Whispers Darksteel Citadel
Beyond that all other standard rules apply.
If you want a better explanation or have any questions you can post on here or talk to either Steve or Myself in the student Center.
Follow Magiccards.info for rarity ratings.
Anywho let the pauper wars begin!

| *stickies it* This looks quite interesting, especially since most every deck will be quite a bit cheaper to build! I should probably make one after looking into it some more, i got commons lying around | |

| I think we needa go over which cards are still Legal as commons... Disciples are commons and still extremely powered, as well as alot of stuff in alpha beta. should we go over it on an as needed basis Sentics?
ie: Strip Mine, Maze of Ith, Hymn to Tourach, Blastoderm, Sinkhole:S
Oh and for Timeshifted...
If the original form of the card was Common, then it is legal to use.
I believe thats the ruling.
hehehe, time to have some fun...

| Its honestly an awsome format. And damn cheap too. You can usually build the best decks in the format for like 5 dollars | |

| I've bought two boxes of random old cards, now to sift through and see which are commons. Damn all same colour set symbols | |

| What about cards that have changed in rarity? (Such as Nantuko Husk, which was once a common and is currently an uncommon).
Would it simply go by what its most currently known as?

| First off, just make a deck As of right now, we don't have all the rules and ways we are going to run it entirely ironed out. Once we do, you'll be sure to see it here. Welcome to the club by the way, and enjoy your stay | |
