| Ok everyone, here's the scoop:
We start by picking a card type and/or a theme. Then, I will accept submissions based on the guidelines set down to get the creative juices flowing. You don't have to submit an entire card; if you have a really cool art you made/found or you have the basic idea of the card and what it does but not the casting/etc., submit it anyway! This is a group project and we will work together to create a single card based on the guidelines. If we come across an idea that's really cool but a little outside the theme, we may still accept it depending on the nature of the idea.
Unless otherwise stated, we will be looking for tournament-feasible cards only (that means no dexterity, anti, or sub-games or anything else that's is not reasonable). We may have an unhinged-style theme later on but for now let's keep this black-bordered rules based as much as possible.
THE FIRST THEME -------------------- -MUST BE MULTICOLORED -MUST HAVE X IN ITS COST -MUST BE DRAGON-THEMED
Let's give a week or so for ideas, feel free to talk shop in the thread, I'll read over everything and utilize the first post as a reminder of the good ideas and where the card's direction is going.
------------------------------ XRU
Creature - Dragon
Flying
[+1/+1 counters] [turns creatures into Dragons] [causes problems for opponents' Dragons] [uses the counters with above abilities]
4/5

| Worldwarp Dragon UBRGW
Creature - Dragon
When Worldwarp Dragon enters the battlefield, you may pay X mana.
Gain 4 life for each W spent on X. Return up to X target nonland permanents for each U spent on X. Target player loses 2 life for each B spent on X. Put a 1/1 green saproling creature token into play for each G spent on X. Each players draws X cards and discard X cards at random for each R spent on X.
7/5
Was in a rush, let see if this is a good base to tinker with if we go creature themed. | |

| Not a fan of all colours so I'd say Name: Reanimated Frost Dragon CC: 3B 2U (X) Creature type - Zombie Dragon Abilities: Flying, BBB: Regenerate Reanimated Frost Dragon, Draw one Card for every mana spent on X and lose X life strength/toughness: 4/5 Flavour text: Winter either bites with its teeth or lashes with its tail. ~Proverb | |

| Sudden Fodder
{X}{R}
Instant
Kicker {R}: If Sudden Fodder was kicked, it has split second.
X target creatures you control gain "Dragon" in addition to their other creature-types, gain flying and gain "{X}: This creature gets +X/+0 until end of turn." until the the turn.
X target creatures you don't control lose the "Dragon" creature type, lose flying, and can't have their activated abilities activated until the the turn.
I suck at making names. | |

| Xeonis of the Aether - UWBRG
Legendary Creature - Dragon
Flying
When Xeonis of the Aether comes into play put an Aeon counter on target player. As long as a player has an aeon counter Xeonis of the Aether has Vigilance
R: Xeonis of the Aether gets +1/+0 until end of turn 2UBG: Target player discards their hand, draws a card for each permanent discarded this way, and puts into play any land discarded this way from the graveyard.
A player may remove an aeon counter anytime they could play a sorcery and target player may take a turn after this one.
When a player no longer has an Aeon counter Xeonis has:
Defender, First Strike G: Xeonis of the Aether gets +0/+1 1R: Xeonis of the Aether deal two damage to each creature and each player.
Power/Toughness - 2/2

| I'm also not sure I'm a fan of 5 color, the Blue or Blue/Black design is catching my eye though...
Also, Dragon-themed means the card is relevent to Dragons or has Dragon elements. Just having the card be a Dragon creature is not really Dragon-themed.
Ok, so it seems like most players want this to be a creature, although I do really like the Sudden Fodder ability. What if we merge these ideas and try something along the lines of:
/**********************\ Volcanic Guardian [XX6RU]
Creature - Dragon
[CARDNAME] costs [1] less to cast for each Dragon on the battlefield you don't control.
When [CARDNAME] enters the battlefield, put X +1/+1 counters on it and X target creatures you control become Dragons and gain Flying, Haste and "R: This creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn".
Whenever [CARDNAME] attacks, X target creatures you don't control lose flying and their activated abilities can't be played until end of turn, where X is the number of +1/+1 counters on [CARDNAME].
4/5 \**********************/
The blue dragon art is really nice though, I'd probably need to change the name to something more fitting... | |

| Dormant Volcanic dragon 0
Land creature - Island Mountain Dragon
[card name] is blue and red.
[card name] enters the battlefield tapped and does not untap during your untap step.
Whenever you cast a dragon spell you may untap [card name] and have [card name] gain flying until end of turn.
3/4
Well, I couldn't think of an X, as it might be a bit too much for a dual creature land... | |

| I personally dislike the Humility effect on the dragon, even Rosewater disliked that effect for various reasons.
/**********************\ Slumberwake Dragon [X3UR]
Creature - Dragon
When [CARDNAME] enters the battlefield, put X +1/+1 counters on it.
Creatures you control become Dragons and gain Flying, Haste and "R: This creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn". Creatures you don't control gain "1U: Tap this creature. Any player may play this ability"
Whenever [CARDNAME] attacks, you may pay UUU or RRR, if you do the defending player cannot play instants until the beginning of next turns upkeep.

| Humility is causing things to lose abilities. Its a rules nightmare and Rosewater regrets the card. Search Humility. In terms of Eon Hub... don't be so silly | |

Search Humility.
In terms of Eon Hub... don't be so silly were you referring to my card in relation to humility? | |

| That's why I wrote it as "can't activate their abilities" instead of "lose abilities". Triggers and state-based effects still work, this is how new Null Rod cards get printed lol.
Let's try to keep the X cost incorporated into its abilities, just having it get +1/+1 counters and not have the counters or X cost be interactive with its other abitilies is counter-productive. | |

| I'll continue to make dragon cards with split second...
How about a tribal enchantment? (something they'll never print, but it could be cool)
Dragon's Call - 1RR
Tribal Enchantment - Dragon
Dragon creatures you control get +1/+1 and have haste. | |

| I was thinking tribal before, but everyone seemed to jump on an actual dragon so I think we're sticking to that for this card. Tribal Dragon enchantments sound sick though.
How would we like to narrow down the abilities on our build-a-card? | |

| X1RRU
Creature - Dragon
Flying
[+1/+1 counters] --> Scrap? [turns creatures into Dragons] --> Put [Dragon or +1/+1] counters on your creatures to make them Dragons (Flying, Firebreathing, Dragon subtype) [haste?] [causes problems for opponents' Dragons] -> Opponents creatures lose Flying? [uses the counters with above abilities] -> X = number of your creatures who become Dragons
4/5
--------
Maybe something along these lines....
Iceflame Brood
X1RGU
Creature - Dragon
Flying
When [CARDNAME] enters the battlefield, put a +1/+1 counter on X target creatures you control.
Creatures you control with +1/+1 counters on them have Flying, are Dragons in addition to their other types, and gain "R: This creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn".
Dragons you don't control lose Flying. 4/5

| Well only one card will be finalized for each theme, and since everyone else did a Dragon with ETB effects and whatnot I figured why not keep a bit of everyone's design? | |

| Dave we're supposed to be narrowing down the card, not making new ones Let's take what we've got and refine it, unless there's others that feel we should move in an intstantly direction besides Aiden? | |

| Why besides me? Things should be fast, split second fast. Super fast!!!
Winged Mountain Land Mountain Creature Dragon
(Winged Mountain isn't a spell, it's affected by summoning sickness, and it has "{T}: Add {R} to your mana pool.")
Winged Mountain is Red.
Flying
{R}: Winged Mountain gets +1/+0 until end of turn.
-1/1
See? Respond to that! | |
