| So what do people think about the new ban lists? If you've been following me on facebook you'll already know that I am a little irritated over the Cloudpost ban in Modern, as well as the Mental Misstep ban in Legacy. Both formats just got a huge kick in the pants >.>
What does everyone else think? Good, bad? What should've been banned, and what shouldn't have?

| The cloudpost ban isn't too surprising in my opinion. They're pretty much destroying any deck people have been raving about. I got rid of my Vesuva the day before in Montreal, and got a good price on it. The deck seems a little silly in my opinion. While I don't think it should be banned, based on what Wizards has been doing with the Modern format, it didn't surprise me one bit.
In terms of mental misstep, I'm in favour of the banning as someone who doesn't play the format. I don't know the format too well, so my opinion doesn't have the experience of a legacy player to support it. Mental Misstep seems to hurt a lot of decks. High Tide and Goblins come to mind (but i'm sure there are more). I think the banning of Mental Misstep allows for more variety of decks to be played again (The ones that were deemed unplayable because of the card, at the very least). I know there are other ways to counter the turn one Goblin Lackey (Daze is a good example, if you played first), or FOW (I'm not saying everyone will FOW a turn one Goblin Lackey, but just stating that it can happen in theory).
That being said, I'm not heavily playing either format right now, so this is more of a personal opinion thing.

| The Mental Misstep ban made me lol hardcore. I keep hearing of people who got em ~$20 or so like right before it got the ban hammer.
On a similar note about bans, Erayo, Soratami Ascendant is banned as a general in EDH now.
Also, Shahrazad is now officially banned in all formats (no longer allowed in EDH)... Yet is still $50+?

No kidding, this rule can be followed for a lot of older cards. I'll trade a new type 2 staple card for an expensive old card any day.

| Arabian Nights mountains were apparently fairly difficult to crack in a pack though. | |
