Shards of Alara ~ What Do You Think?

So far, this new set's kind of dissapointing. I've only really seen what I played with/against in the prerelease, and a modified Esper precon, but frankly I'm really not liking forced 3 colour decks. It's kind of silly, and not in a good way. I like 2 colour, and I don't mind 2 colour gold. But 3? I admit, coloured artifacts are pretty neat, but that's all I'm liking out of the set so far. The Ultimatum cycle looks impossible to run, and the mythic rare idea is just a pissoff. also, losing a common for a land? Fail.

I was looking at shards and I too am not too happy.

Some fun cards, some wacky ones.

But i do disagree with the multiple colours, a coiple or mono is good, but thats just unfair

Actually I made a couple monocoloured decks in Shadowmoor style that work alright, even though technically a lot of the cards are really hybrid. Even so, you can still run them with ease in single colour format. I definitely liked Shadowmoor block's multicoloured style better than the new one's. I'd like to draft Shards regardless however, I haven't had the chance yet.

I am so making a blue/black/white deck.

Well from a constructed standpoint I find the set to be terrible. It does add a few good cards but all in all its not that great.

But from a draft standpoint its alot of fun haha.

I've decided now the set's got some fun in it. I build a mws Ultra-Affinity deck using mirrodin and shards. Basically you run up your artifacts like crazy, then drop the "artifact creatures have artifact affinity" card, then drop a colossus and a platinum angel ^_^ I wanna test the deck out but it looks fun. There's 2 Broodstars and NO ravagers.
